I worked for three years for a lawyer who did nothing but help people get disability money from the state. I can honestly say that I don't remember a single case with ADD. That was in the early 90's, so maybe, now that ADD is more publisized and better understood, things have changed. Good Luck.

I am new to this site, and have known that I have add for a few years. I have lost many jobs, am very intelligent and very frustrated with myself. I feel helpless to address my issues, I tried ritalin and I just don't respond very well to stimulants, can't sleep even on the lowest dose. My supervisor has just brought the matter to my attention that my work is suffering from lack of detail and careless errors, which is a common problem for me. I have scheduled an appt with a doctor who is a specialist and a therapist but am impatient and scared that I will lose yet another job.

I don't understand the pattern. I have ADD as well and have held a job for 3 years. Do you get sick of one job and leave to another out of fear of getting fired? I used to have that problem, but due to the economy, I stayed at my current job. What motivates your job losses? I am not being mean, I just want to understand.

I have known I have had add for pretty much all of my life. I took Ritalin as a child and was marked as gifted and talented. I was fortunate to have a school that recognized my need for individual attention and helped me accel.
I now work in customer service in the construction industry. I have been in the industry for 7 years and really enjoy working with customers. Last month, work began to pile up on me because we had 3 people leave. I was carrying the load of 2 people and was very stressed. It seemed the more I worked, the less I got done and I would get more stressed because I was getting behind. I was written up a couple of weeks ago for not getting enough done.
I thought I was doing all I could but found nothing was getting completed. I am off to see a doctor soon because I really enjoy my job and the company I work for.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
