I found out that I have ADD a couple of months ago. It was a revelation!! I am 32 years old and I now know the cause of most of my problems in life. I've made bad decisions, lost lots of jobs, and I have never had much of a social life. Due to self esteem issues stemming from my failures, I've only had one relationship and that was with a marrried woman. I need to get some money in order to get a prescription of Straterra filled. My question is : How do I start to build my life after all of this wasted time?

Just wanted to respond to your question. The way I believe you get started is to first to recognize that no part of your life has been wasted. You are exactly in life where you are meant to be..... you are starting to understand you and your mind. This is all that matters now. All you expierenced in the past brought you to this point you are at in your life right now. So nothing negative from the past matters now except that your past brought you to this positive point in life. You would not be here now willing to learn more about you and your mind. We are all different yet special in so many ways. Continue to life your life. Laugh, love, cry, sing, dance, be sad, be happy. This is how you ADD life to your life. God Bless You!

Ted, I agree that your time has not been wasted and can only get better if apply what you now know in order to get even more out of life. Many, many people do well with ADD and lead happy lives. If you want to help yourself I recommend finding a level of organization you're happy with and stick to that as opposed to beating yourself up based on others' standards or expectations. Do all that you can to be self-sufficient and realize that everyone has their own challenges and are doing the best they can with their blessings and talents from God.
