My name is lynn and I've been dating a wonderful man for almost 7 months now. He was diagnosed with ADD as a child and was treated successfully with ritalin all thru highschool and college. Well the ADD has been somewhat noticable tome throughout our relationship but has never really ccaused an issue until recently. He has been out of work and trying to get onto the police force since august. His unemployment benefits have run out and he's very worried about money yet he's done nothing to find a job. He's been pushing me away for a few weeks now and the more I try to help him the further away he keeps me. I've offered my love and support to him but nothing seems to be helping him. He's left me frustrated and feeling unloved, and the sad part is he knows this and that is making him even more distant. I understand his need to work his problems out on his own, but it kills me to watch him go thru this. I've spoken to his mother and she is now aware of how deep the issues are running and has said she is going to try to get him to the doctor and back on his medication. I so badly want to help him, so if anyone has any ideas as to how I can be supportive yet not overbearing here I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you so very much Lynn
