I'm going to get tested for ADD in 2wks and I just wanted to ask a few questions from people who already have been diagnosed just to make sure I'm not wasting my parents money. Did any of you do fine in school until you got to college? I got pretty good grades all my life but I know I wasn't even trying. Were you well behaved around strangers? My teachers always thought i was well behaved. I've never really been obnoxious unless I was around people I knew and sometimes around strangers. Is you're mind not necessarily racing but jumping from subject to subject? Like I can think about something for a bit but then I don't even realize it and it jumps to something else and when I want to I can't just stop thinking about stuff (like when I go to bed). Thanks for reading this please respond with any thoughts.

Hello Kristin, I was diagnosed as being ADD @ 3yrs ago, and your description of yourself is fairly similar to how I am, although my grades in school were never above par but like yourself I did not really try either. I do want to mention the thoughts in particular, especially the thinking in bed! At times thoughts seem to race but the process is more often the ever evolving kind like you mentioned. Feel free to ask me about whatever, I am new to the group thing and am curious about how others deal with being this way. A bit of advice though, if you are diagnosed as being ADD do not take it as a negative! I myself would never want to be "cured" of it! Take care! -pvc
